Episode 119: "Kisses On The Bottom: Revisited"
Saturday Feb 13, 2021
Saturday Feb 13, 2021
"I'm gonna sit right down and myself a letter".....
These were the first words we heard back in February 2012 when Paul dropped a standards album out of the blue on us!
On the latest episode of 2Legs, (almost 9 years to the day of it's original February 2012 release), Tom & Andy dive back into Kisses On The Bottom and accompanying film Live Kisses.
We discuss everything from song choices (most of the tracks coming from Macca's Liverpool heritage with Jim Mac playing these on Forthlin Road), the superb musicians featuring Diana Krall (Mrs. Elvis Costello) among others, and wonderful production under the direction of Tommy LiPuma.
Was Paul too late to the album standards game? Like it? Hate it? Tell us

Episode 118: A Conversation with Gabe Dixon
Saturday Jan 30, 2021
Saturday Jan 30, 2021
In November 2001 Paul McCartney released the first album after the passing of his wife Linda. Driving Rain sparked the beginning of the later day renaissance period for Paul which continues to this very day.
This week's installment features an interview with Musician and pianist, Gabe Dixon. Gabe played keyboards, organ and backing vocals on "Driving Rain." Gabe tells Tom and Andy a bit of his roots in Nashville, his early influences, first musical experiences, and finally connecting with Paul McCartney and Producer David Kahne.
Gabe also has been a very prolific musician pre and post his Paul experiences. He has toured with Loggins and Messina/Supertramp and is the founder of the Gabe Dixon Band. He has two albums out currently "One Spark" and "Turns To Gold". And a new forthcoming release in Spring 2021.

Episode 116: "Red Square" Film Review
Saturday Jan 16, 2021
Saturday Jan 16, 2021
"Back in the U.S. Back in the U.S. Back in the U.S.S.R."
In 2003 and 2004 as part of the Back In The World Tour, Paul played Moscow and St. Petersburg for the first time. To memorialize these historic visits a concert film DVD was produced by A&E and The History Channel in 2005.
The film flows like a mini-documentary. Perhaps the most significant aspect of the film features Russian historians and musicians reflecting on the real life struggle and risks they took to listen to Beatles music.
All of this fascinating information is interspersed performance footage from the Red Square concert. This, as one can imagine can be visually distracting. Tom and Andy give their opinions of the film and highlight the good, the bad and the ugly!

Ring Out The Old, Ring In The New!
Happy 2021 From your old friends Tom & Andy! For our first show of the (long awaited) New Year we invited Dylan Sevey back to the show to discuss an overlooked aspect of Paul's solo career: Instrumentals.
Easily the most prolific of all ex-Beatles in terms of instrumentals, Paul has amassed over 30 officially released instrumentals in his 51 year solo career.
Tom, Andy & Dylan also discuss many songs that have "fragments" or scant lyrical content and whether they should be classified as instrumentals.
What are some of your favourite Macca instrumentals? Tell us below!

John Lennon: "I thought Paul's was rubbish!"
Paul McCartney: "He says the only thing I did was Yesterday and he knows that's wrong!"
Hi Hi Hi! 2Legs is back and this week we welcome Antony Rotunno (Glass Onion: On John Lennon Podcast) to the show! This week we take a look at the relationship between McCartney and Lennon throughout the 1970s. This installment is the first of a two part (potentially 3) series. This episode we discuss the historical narratives that were present in their relationships in 1970 and 1971 as reported on by contemporary sources from the time (Time, New Musical Express, Melody Maker, Rolling Stone).
History has shown that this time period was the most contentious in their post-Beatles breakup with conflict over "McCartney" release/Paul's High Court case to dissolve the Beatles in December 1970 just for starters! Antony, Tom & Andy all reflect on the "brotherhood" bond the two shared despite the ugliness following the Beatles bust up.
