Episode 153: ”The Space Within Us” (Film Review)

Film Review Time Again!
This week Tom & Andy review the 2006 A&E release The Space Within Us. Paul's second concert film with the "new" band he formed in 2001 for the first "Back In The US/World" tour. (Which also received a film release). The tour was promoting Paul's 2005 Chaos and Creation In The Backyard album. Now considered a latter day McCartney classic. This concert film was a little bit better we both felt purely for the change-up of the setlist which included never performed live Beatles songs such as 'I'll Get You', 'Please Please Me' and the first live performance of 'Too Many People' from RAM.
The central focus of the film is Paul communicating with the NASA Astronauts during the concert tying in the "US" concept and "space" ideas. The film is still with it's faults though as ever with modern Paul concert films, too much audience jump cutting/interviews with talking heads which all take away from the concert itself. Which is a pity because the setlist for the US Tour was absolutely classic and the tour itself will be remembered for the change up in the set.
For your review here's a setlist from 2005 in NYC: https://www.setlist.fm/setlist/paul-mccartney/2005/madison-square-garden-new-york-ny-5bddb700.html
Have you dusted off this one in a while? Music - Homerun. Others? - eh.

Episode 152: ”Twin Freaks”
Saturday Jan 08, 2022
Saturday Jan 08, 2022
Happy 2022 Macca Fans! Our first show of the new year and we kick it off with Experimental Macca. In 2005 a low key (LP only) release called "Twin Freaks" was released which featured mash-ups of solo McCartney music.
One year later in 2006 this became widely popular with the Beatles "Love" Cirque Du Soleil soundtrack. Paul made this record in collaboration with DJ "Freelance Hellraiser" (Roy Kerr).
Joining us, is returning guest the Queen Kit O'Toole (The Queen of All Beatles Media) an apt and just title! Kit is the author of several books (Michael Jackson FAQ, The Songs We Were Singing - Guided Tours Through The Beatles Lesser Known Tracks). A researcher and writer of Popular Music for over 20 Years (not to mention contributing author to "Beatlefan" magazine) Kit gives us her opinions on mashups, it's origins, and place and classification as a genre.
Tom, Andy and Kit definitely encourage you to check out this out if you haven't heard it. If you can find a vinyl copy (Cough Cough Tom). It's also on streaming services.

Episode 150: ”Best Friend” (Part 3)
Saturday Dec 18, 2021
Saturday Dec 18, 2021
This week on 2Legs we are happy to have Antony Rotunno (Glass Onion: On John Lennon) Podcast, back for Part 3 of our "Best Friend" series. Examining the Lennon-McCartney relationship throughout the 1970s. This episode focuses on the years 1974-1976.
By this time things had cooled down between the two and they famously jammed in March of 74 in LA. We discuss this and other attributed quotes as published in the NME, Rolling Stone, and other publications we reference throughout our chat. Antony also gives us his initial impressions on the "Get Back" docu-series.
We appreciate Antony taking the time to continue this fascinating period and look forward to having him back for a 4th part (1977-1980) and perhaps even a 5th (post-1980) installment. In addition to his Glass Onion: On John Lennon show, he has two other podcasts:
