Episode 132: The Word

Game Time!
This week Tom and Andy jumping on an idea hatched by the Kiss Podcast folks "Three Sides of the Coin" come up with 1 word/phrase to describe each solo McCartney/Wings record.  We discuss the main canon (the same as our Ranking series).  
The Word can be thoughts on the concept/feel of the record, our personal opinion/memory of it.  Just a little fun exercise we had fun with.  We agreed on several words too! (Shocker)

Episode 131: "Women and Wives"

Episode 131 tackles a subject we have yet to take an in depth look at previously on 2Legs. Paul's relationships. Our first show outside of his musical career!
Joining Tom and Andy this week on 2Legs is Ms. Natalia Cardenas who is the host of the Podcast "She Loves You" which focuses on the women in Beatles history. Natalia's show is a breath of fresh air to the Beatles Podcast community and her subject area is one that has been overlooked. Natalia also manages a Cynthia Lennon Instagram fan page: "Cynthia Lennon Daily".
This is the first of at least a two part series. We discussed Paul's early Liverpool relationships proceeding up to and including the Jane Asher period. Our next installment will resume once Paul and Jane call it quits in 1968 prior to Linda's arrival in London during the White Album sessions.

Anything But The Beatles: Episode 2: "Time" ELO (1981)

This is a special off-shoot mini series that Andy has done with fellow Beatles Podcaster Ethan Alexanian (Fans On The Run Podcast) where we have a monthly chat on anything but Beatles music.  We dropped our first episode last month on Ethan's page and this month we are returning the favor here on the 2Legs channel.  We also have a YouTube channel as well.  Thanks for checking "Anything But The Beatles" out!  Andy

And we are back!
We barely got it done for May but here we are!
This month this duo spends time geeking out on ELO. We talk ELO fandom in general, our favourite songs and concerts. We both saw the 2019 Tour and Andy attended the Radio City Music Hall show in September 2016.
We chose "Time" because we felt it is one of the overlooked ELO albums. The album was released in 1981 and certainly after the peak ELO's late 70s success but it still sold fairly well (#1 UK #9 US) and spawned two hit singles with 'Hold On Tight' and 'Twilight'.
We review the album track by track as Ethan shows off a recently scored UK pressing and Andy refers to the 2001 CD reissue for liner notes by Jeff. A time travel concept album for 1981?

Your old friends at 2Legs Tom and Andy took their turn at this fun discussion.  What was Tom's first bad? Was it "Off The Ground"? What was Andy's?

Episode 129: Timmy Sean

The Ram 50th Anniversary Buzz continues this week on 2Legs!  
Tom and Andy welcome Musician Timmy Sean to the show this week.  Timmy is one of the many musicians that were a part of the "Ram On" 50th Anniversary tribute album and sings killer lead vocals on 'Smile Away' and 'Monkberry Moon Delight'.  
Timmy gives us his background in music and early days of Beatles/McCartney fandom. He also explains the process of how the tribute album came up working with Fernando Perdomo and Denny Seiwell remotely to create these excellent cover versions!
Timmy also recently released a "Powerpop Rock Opera" solo album titled "A Tale From The Other Side" (which just has the coolest 80s retro packaging to it!) which we both highly recommend!

Episode 128: "McGear"

Tom and Andy are back after a few weeks off and our topic today is not a Paul McCartney record! 
Paul's brother Mike McCartney who later changed his surname to McGear was is also musician and enjoyed some local UK minor success with his group The Scaffold in the 60s.
In the mid 1974 he finally released his own solo album, simply titled "McGear" and the record was made with the help of our kid and Wings! It is really a fascinating listen and in the opinion of many fans and reviewers it's considered the "lost" Wings album of 1974.
Joining Tom & Andy for Episode 128 is Tony Traguardo (Fab4Free4All Podcast) who previously spoke to us regarding the McCartney/Costello partnership last year.  Tony had a chance to interview Mike in the 1980s and was a big fan of the record going back to the 1970s.
